How secure are my payment and personal details?
TheDogsDoodahs takes security of your details very seriously, which is why we use a leading online payment system for you to buy our cards and gifts – Barclaycard/EPDQ or Sagepay. Barclaycard/EPDQ and Sagepay is audited by an independent auditor on a regular basis to ensure that they comply with the latest security standards set out by Visa and MasterCard. There will be a padlock symbol which appears during payment, this is your re-assurance that your details are being collected securely using 128 bit SSL technology. The padlock is located in a different area of the payment page screen depending on the Internet browser you are using – it can normally be found in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, at the top of the screen next to (or inside) the address bar, or at the very top right hand corner of the screen. The address bar at the top will also change from http:// to https:/ which shows you are on a secure section of the website. Once you have entered your card details, Barclaycard/EPDQ or Sagepay will securely send your details to the bank to be authorized. This is a completely secure process and they ensure that your details cannot be accessed by a third party. This means that even TheDogsDoodahs.com do not have access to your card details.
How secure are my details within my account?
We run the most trusted SSL certificate from Comodo on our website to enable you to complete card and gift purchasing transactions with the assurance that no one else can read or change information, as it travels over the Internet. This means that your card details are specially encrypted before we send them to our payment provider. We do not store any credit card details on our website or servers. Our payment provider is Barclaycard/EPDQ or Sagepay and all transaction information passed between our site and Barclaycard/EPDQ or Sagepay systems are encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No card information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent from Barclaycard/EPDQ or Sagepay to our systems are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering.
You can be completely assured that nothing you pass to Barclaycard/EPDQ or Sagepay servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.
Different browser show a padlock in different places but you should be able to see a padlock somewhere on the screen and the URL will change from HTTP: to HTTPS: to show you which areas of the web site are secured.
Why do you use Barclaycard/EPDQ and Sagepay
We use both so that you are always able (hopefully) to purchase on our website. Sometimes payment providers (Barclaycard/EPDQ and Sagepay) have problems and we can then switch to another payment provider to ensure you can continue to purchase.
