Science of Giggles

Laughter bonds us. We know that when we make our friends laugh, we feel a sense of reward and here at TheDogsDoodahs, we're in the business of giggles! But what exactly is laughter and why do we all feel the need to have a good tickle every now and then? It's more complex than you'd imagine! According to this fabulous article on the BBC website, laughter plays an important communicative and social role. Once one person laughs it is contagious and even if you force yourself to laugh, you'll be laughing for real quite soon! When two people share a joke that only they really understand, it reminds us of our common bond.

When you select a card that is just "so very them" it's because you remember a shared event that only you, the person buying the card and they, the person getting the card will enjoy to the fullest. That's why we have many greeting cards which have the option to upload a photo. It's the easiest way to recall a moment in our friendship story. So go on, make them giggle today!

The fab scientists at HowStuffWords.com say that we laugh on average 17 times a day. Here at Doggy Towers we laugh a little bit more than that which is good for our body- a giggle involves 17 facial muscles!  According to their article, laughter is a bonding action and the more we laugh, the closer we feel to the community around us. Who knew that a giggle was so important!?!
